No. 7 Virginia and Providence enter Saturday nights championship game of the Emerald Coast Classic having played several of the same opponents so far this season. After the Cavaliers dismantled Iowa 74-41 and Providence took care of Memphis 60-51 in Friday nights semifinal games, the two teams will meet after sharing two common opponents already, and one on the way when Virginia plays Ohio State Wednesday night. Both teams have wins over Grambling State and St. Francis Brooklyn and the Friars only loss this season came at the hands of Ohio State.Virginia has continued its dominance on the defensive end of the court as Iowa became the fourth straight opponent that the Cavaliers held to 41 points of fewer. The Cavaliers only opponent to top 41 was UNC Greensboro (51 points) in the season-opener.Iowa was slated to be Virginias toughest test to date, but the Cavaliers dominated the Hawkeyes in every facet of the game as they dished out 18 assists and never trailed again after Iowa scored the first two points of the game.Providence shot just 40 percent in their win over Memphis but held the Tigers to 34 percent shooting as they will be the toughest defensive opponent the Cavaliers have faced all season. The Friars allow just 58 points per game but have had trouble scoring the basketball so far -- something that wont bode well against the Cavaliers.Forward Rodney Bullock has averaged 21 points per game and continued his strong play with an 18-point performance against Memphis.Virginia is looking for its fourth straight regular-season tournament title after winning the Charleston Classic last year. The Cavaliers win over Iowa marked just their third win in the state of Florida in the past 22 tries. Virginia put three players in double figures against the Hawkeyes and will need to continue to shoot the ball at the 50 percent clip they have been this season to maneuver the Providence defense. The Friars also put three players in double figures scoring in their semifinal win but got just 10 points from their bench, something that will need to improve against Virginias defense. The Cavaliers have used their bench to their advantage all season and that was no different against Iowa. Virginia got 31 points from their bench, including a career-high 14 points from forward Jared Reuter -- a possible defensive matchup for Bullock.Providence will look to be the first team to solve the undefeated Cavaliers this season but it wont be easy. Virginias hot shooting from the perimeter will provide a challenge for a Friar team that has defended the three-point shot well this season, but against lower competition. The Friars and Cavaliers are set to tip off for the tournament title Saturday night at 7p.m. ET. In this case, it was soccer weather. The sport moved a step closer to returning to South Florida on Wednesday, when Beckham confirmed he has exercised his option to purchase a Major League Soccer expansion franchise in Miami. http://www.swellbottlesale.com/swell-bottle-wood-sale.html .Y. -- The Buffalo Sabres have recalled forward Kevin Porter and defenceman Chad Ruhwedel from the minors as part of a five-player roster shuffle made by the NHLs worst team. sWell Water Bottle Marble . The news was first reported on Gonzalezs Twitter account and confirmed by the Rockies. Gonzalez has a six-week window before position players have their first workout at spring training in Arizona. Cheap Swell Traveler . -- Adam Snyder returned to the San Francisco 49ers this season because the offensive lineman thought it was his best opportunity to win a championship. ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Given his occasional ball-in-one-hand running style, LeSean McCoy acknowledges hes not the best person to turn to in pinpointing why the Buffalo Bills have committed so few turnovers this season.I would be lying to you if I just told you we do some super thing to protect the ball, the Bills running back said. There aint no secret. And yet, McCoy and Co. must be doing something right because the Bills have been so proficient at protecting the ball, most of the teams game-day giveaways are coming from the promotions department.Buffalos six turnovers are the fewest through 11 games in NFL history. The previous low over that span was eight shared by five teams, most recently Kansas City last year. The single-season record is 10, set by New England in 2010 and matched by San Francisco the following season.McCoy doesnt have a giveaway in the 167 times hes touched the ball. Hes had three fumbles, with each one recovered by the Bills -- including two by offensive tackle Jordan Mills.Quarterback Tyrod Taylor is responsible for five turnovers, with four interceptions and a lost fumble. The only other miscue was made by rookie running back Jonathan Williams losing a fumble in the final minutes of a 45-16 win over San Francisco on Oct. 16.The Bills (6-5), who prepare to play at AFC West-leading Oakland (9-2) on Sunday, have had six turnover-free games this season in already matching last seasons total.Raiders defensive end Khalil Mack is impressed by how few times Buffalo has turned it over. They do things consistently, theyre fundamentally sound, Mack said. But at the same time, its all about us. And the challenge for us is to make them give us the ball. The key is staying patient, said Mack, who returned an interception for a touchdown in a 35-32 win over Carolina on Sunday. The opportunities will come, he said. As long as you stop the run and be consistent in your pass-rushing and your pass coverage, everything will work itself out.Coach Rex Ryan credits Taylor, whose fouur interceptions are tied for the third-lowest total among quarterbacks with 300 or more attempts.ddddddddddddI think our quarterback in particular is vastly under-rated in that area, Ryan said. Hes not being careless with the football, so he understands it.The knock against Taylor is that he has at times been criticized for being too conservative in making safe, shorter passes than attempting longer passes into one-on-one coverages. Taylor is averaging just 6.7 yards per completion, which puts him 23rd among quarterbacks with 300 or more attempts.Ryan defended Taylor by saying its wrong referring to him as a game manager.I get it. Our numbers arent very good yardage-wise or whatever, Ryan said. But I think the main thing is your pass-efficiency. And I think sometimes thats a little higher rated than what the yardage should be.Taylor said there are times he does take chances. Its my job to take calculated risks, but at the same time be smart with where Im going with the football, Taylor said. Turnovers definitely dont lead to good things in this league. With Buffalos defense forcing 14 takeaways (eight interceptions and six forced fumbles), the team ranks fourth in the league with a plus-8 turnover differential. Its also a plus that Buffalos defense has limited opponents to scoring just two field goals off six turnovers.Linebacker Zach Brown said Buffalos defense has benefited from how well the offense has protected the ball.Brown, however, placed the onus on the defense for not doing enough to play its part. Then again, in the big picture, he said, the objective is to win games, not set records for fewest turnovers.Who cares about that record? Brown said. The records and stuff, its good to break them. But at the end of the day, were just trying to make sure we get some Ws.---For more NFL coverage: http://www.pro32.ap.org and http://www.twitter.com/AP-NFL ' ' '
