They play each other in Super Rugby and they know who they are up against. New Zealand now have to go out and back it up; they must look at how they play and consider what changes to make, and what forced changes they have to look at. Its an exciting time.Weve talked about Beauden Barrett a fair bit in this column, and rightfully so after winning a Super Rugby title, but he just adds so much. Its contagious when your conductor, and thats how he wants to play, results in old fellows like Jerome Kaino charging down kicks, regathering and scoring.Barrett just seems to revel in that All Blacks environment; he backs up his performance week in and week out. Steve Hansen has said in the past that he selects players or drops them on how they play for the All Blacks and not on how they play anywhere else, and hes so right.Players can go back to their franchises, and for whatever reason things dont go their way or they dont perform; but if theyve always performed in an All Blacks jersey then that level of trust ensures they wont let that jersey down.
