Trainer Con Karakatsanis has been disqualified for six months for giving false evidence to stewards after they ordered the withdrawal of Howmuchdoyouloveme from a Group Two race at Randwick.Stewards were concerned the sprinter had received a raceday treatment before his scheduled start in The Shorts on September 17 when they discovered a mark on his neck.Karakatsanis told stewards he did not have any unauthorised or unregistered products in his stable but an un-named substance was found on his premises later that day.The trainer pleaded guilty to having the product in his possession and also to another similar charge from another inspection on October 27.He was fined $500 for each breach. The hearing into two other charges relating to the raceday administration of medication to Howmuchdoyouloveme were adjourned on Tuesday.Karakatsanis has been training under a stay of proceedings pending an appeal against a four-month disqualification for improper practice.Stewards determined five horses in his name were in fact being trained by their owner Angelis Vasili who was also outed for four months.
