ARLINGTON, Texas -- Texas Rangers third base coach Tony Beasley has been declared cancer-free after missing much of the past season while going through extensive chemotherapy.Beasley was diagnosed with rectal cancer last January. The Rangers said in a tweet Thursday that Beasley has officially received a clean bill of health .Beasley, who turned 50 on Monday, underwent chemotherapy treatments during spring training and again in May and June. Between those treatments, Beasley spent time with the team and was able to be in the dugout during some Rangers games.Spike Owen filled in as the interim third base coach all of last season for the AL West champions.
