Stoke City cruised to a comfortable 1-0 win over Watford at Vicarage Road. The visitors had the likes of Joe Allen and Glen Whelan missing for their trip to an in-from Watford, but they ran out deserved winners thanks to an own goal from Heurelho Gomes.Stoke City started well and quickly began bossing the game from the first whistle. The club should have taken the lead on seven minutes but Giannelli Imbula fired straight at Gomes from close range after a Xherdan Shaqiri free kick had caused panic in the box, but they were leading just before the half-hour mark. Another delivery from Shaqiri, this time from a corner, again displayed frailties in the Watford defence and Charlie Adam rose to head the ball onto the post and into the net via the legs of Gomes. Adam tried to claim it, but it went down as an og for the unlucky Gomes. There was a hint of a push from Adam on Valon Behrami in the build-up, but Watford could have no complaints about going behind. In the second half the home side improved, but only marginally. Odion Ighalo was introduced and a change in formation gave Watford more of an attacking threat, but on the odd occasion they got into a dangerous position they failed to show any real quality.Watfords poor afternoon got even worse in injury time when Miguel Angel Britos saw red after picking up a second yellow for a blatant foul on Xherdan Shaqiri. Stoke Citys win moves them into the top half of the table into tenth place, just two points behind Watford in eighth. Air Jordan 3 Outlet .
