Appleby went 1-1 as the starter against Tennessee and Vanderbilt earlier this season after Del Rio suffered a sprained knee against North Texas on Sept. 17.On the season, Appleby has completed 44 of his 72 attempts for 470 yards with three touchdowns to one interception. During his time at Purdue, Appleby played in 17 games and started 11 times, throwing for 2,777 career yards with 19 touchdowns to 19 interceptions.McElwain also said that true freshman Feleipe Franks, who was ranked No. 65 overall in the 2016 ESPN 300, has been taking the most reps behind Appleby this week in practice.
