While not the biggest release for Tudor for Watches and Wonders 2023, the brand has made some meaningful changes to the Black Bay 31/36/39/41 collection, including updated movements, upgraded bracelets, and some new dial colors ( and a discontinued silver dial option). Additionally, all three new colors come with a choice of luminous or diamond hour markers.
Specification Brand: Tudor Model: Black Bay 31/36/39/41 Dimensions: Diameter 31/36/39/41mm Water resistance: 100 meters Case Material: Stainless Steel Strap/Bracelet: Bracelet with T-shaped quick-adjust clasp Crystal/Lens: Sapphire Crystal Movement: MT5201/MT5400/MT5602/MT5601 (all COSC) Power reserve: 50/70/70/70 hours Operating frequency: 28,800 vph/4hz
Things remain the same here. You can choose from 31, 36, 39 or 41mm, and they feature sapphire crystals, screw-down crowns, and are water-resistant to 100 meters. A combination of polished and satin-finished, the chamfers extend from the bezel to the ends of the lugs. Most importantly, though, Black Bay has updated with the brand's new T-shaped quick-adjust clasp on its Jubilee-inspired bracelet for on-the-go resizing throughout the day. I doubt a lot of people didn't buy the Black Bay because of the lack of this mechanism, but I bet it will be a selling point for some on the sidelines.
With the silver and black dial gone, the stainless-steel Black Bay option is now light champagne, blue, and a new anthracite color reminiscent of the Black Bay 54 (a new version also came out this year). The dials are all printed in contrasting sunburst patterns: gold for anthracite, black for champagne, and white for blue. They both have applied hour markers, but if you're feeling flashy, the non-basic markers are available in luminous charts or diamonds. The iconic snowflake hour hand is retained, and the dial remains clean and balanced, with no date display. All with Super-LumiNova, white on blue and champagne dials, and cream old radium on anthracite.replica Tourbillon watches
For this batch of Black Bays, Tudor finally put on the self-produced movement. Each size is now equipped with Tudor's in-house MT movement. These are manufactured by Tudor through its movement maker Kenissi, and some of them have previously been used in other movements. They are all COSC certified and run at 28,800 vph or 4 hz. Notably, the 31mm model of the MT5201 has a 50-hour power reserve, while the other three offer 70 hours. It really depends on how you rotate and store the watch, but it's pretty much an all-day difference, and while 5mm is nothing, it might be worth the jump to 36mm if you're wearing it on a daily basis.
This might be Tudor's least exciting launch of the year, but it shouldn't be ignored. Yes, Tudor is continuing its trend of rebranding itself as Black Bay Watches, but the entry-level, no-frills watches here are an easy route into Swiss sports watches for many. By equipping them with in-house movements and adding some dial variety, Tudor is appealing to a wider audience with better replica watches for sale.
