YORK -- Ronnie OSullivan says snooker should concentrate on the games very best players as many professionals competing in the top events are never going to be good enough. The 40-year-old believes the current format of 128-player tournaments is anarchy and preventing investment from China. It is not the first time OSullivan has spoken out this week. World Snooker chairman Barry Hearn rebuked the five-time world champion for recent comments in comparing the sport to a car boot sale, while Shaun Murphy said OSullivan should concentrate on his game.On Wednesday, OSullivan saw off Matthew Stevens 6-2 to reach the quarterfinals of the UK Championship in York.He then used his post-match interview to offer further insight into ways he felt snooker could move forwards and embrace lucrative overseas sponsorship deals.China is where it is at. The money is there, they are ready to pump it in to snooker, they just dont want 128 players, OSullivan told BBC Sport. It is anarchy when you go over there. You watch it and it is just too many players, too many people. They want the cream of the cream -- and that is the top 32.OSullivan feels a trimmed-down version of the tour focusing on the elite players is the way forward.I always believe in more quality over quantity. That has always been my philosophy in everything I do, he said.I think we have a lot of quantity, but very few quality events, so maybe skim them down a bit and just make them all real proper setups.Maybe the tour is only strong enough at the moment to cater for 64 players to do that. That is probably where I think snooker could be improved, with probably more prestigious events like the Masters, the one they have just had in Guangzhou [China Championship], a little bit like the tennis with the ATP [World Tour Finals], where you just have your top eight.Because it is a slog, a lot of players come in at round one, and that is where [snooker] could probably change its perception. My argument is there should be more for the top players.I am a top player, I am not going to be a top player forever, but I always believed the top players should be rewarded and have more classy events to play in and should be treated differently.I believe the top 16, top 32, should be having better opportunities rather than keep coming into round one, playing a lot of events which dont carry great quality, but that is my personal opinion. I think you need to look after your top players. It is nothing against the other tournaments. I know what people in China think, they just want the top players there. They dont really want 128 players.OSullivan believes many of the players currently involved in the tour are never going to get anywhere. He said: If you are good enough, you will get to the top, but otherwise you have got the tail wagging the dog in a way.You are supporting the bottom ones when really no-one knows them, they are never going to get anywhere, but you are just having to kind of [go on].OSullivan added: This [128-player set-up] is like an amateur and a pro [sport] all in one, and it is just not going to work. There are a lot of players I watch out there, and they cant play. It is as simple as that, and that is no disrespect, they are never going to be good enough.Following his win in York, OSullivan will next take on either Liam Highfield or Mark Williams in Fridays quarterfinals. In Wednesdays other fourth-round contest, Murphy beat Chinas Zhou Yuelong 6-2, scoring two centuries as he won the last four frames. There was little drama in the evening session, where Marco Fu thrashed Oli Lines 6-0 and world No. 1 Mark Selby saw off Zhang Anda 6-1.PA Sport contributed to this report.Wholesale NFL Jerseys .Gather a group of friends, or find a league to join online, draft your team, set your lineup and compete in a number of different formats. So for those reading this column, the truth is your roster is almost assuredly in very good shape. Youve powered through the regular season and the early weeks of the postseason to come this far. Its not time to stir the pot dramatically and make sweeping changes. But for a variety of reasons, there may be some roster fine tuning this week, so lets look at a few options that can provide you with the finishing touch for your championship run.Dion Lewis, RB, New England Patriots (43.2 percent). Lewis played his largest role yet in a game for the Patriots since returning from injury; he led the team with 95 rushing yards in Week 15 and showed the type of elusiveness in the hole that made him such a key part of the offense in 2015. LeGarrette Blount is the drive finisher for this Patriots offense, but with a Week 16 matchup against the Jets, dont be surprised if Lewis stays busy.Ryan Griffin, TE, Houston Texans (2.8 percent). If C.J. Fiedorowicz sits out in Week 16 because of a concussion that prevented him from playing in Week 15, Griffin should be in line for another productive game. He had eight catches for 85 yards in Week 15, catching all of his targets. The Texans passing game got a lift when Tom Savage took over at quarterback against the Jaguars, and Griffin will be a usable tight end this week if Fiedorowicz is unable to suit up.Robby Anderson, WR, New York Jets (5.9 percent). Anderson has scored in double digits over each of his past three games, emerging as the most targeted Jets wide receiver, a role previously occupied by Brandon Marshall. Anderson is a speedy and tall rookie who has seemed to develop a rapport with Bryce Petty. With Ryan Fitzpatrick perhaps in line to start Saturday, the outlook for Anderson changes a bit, but if youre playing in a points-per-reception league with a need for a flex option, Anderson fits the bill.J.J. Nelson, WR, Arizona Cardinals (10.0 percent). Nelson is an exciting player who found the end zone for the fourth time in three games in Week 15. He also dropped another easy touchdown that wouldve gone for 50-plus yards. Hes a big play waiting to happen. While John Brown also got more involved in Week 15, theres an avenue for Nelson into your lineup: If youre concerned because youre facing a heavily favored opponent, Nelson offers the kind of swing-for-the-fences upside that you could need to pull the upset.San Diego Chargers D/ST (36.5 percent). The Seahawks and Ravens are regarded among the best defenses in the NFL, but the Chargers D/ST has done sommething that neither of them have in 2016: scored positive fantasy points in every game this season.dddddddddddd But the reason to add the Chargers this week is not because of the floor, its because of the ceiling. San Diego plays the Browns in Week 16, and only the Rams allow more points to opposing D/ST on average. The Chargers are a wise streaming option. The Bolts lead the NFL with 17 interceptions in 2016.Tyler Lockett, WR, Seattle Seahawks (24.3 percent). Looking for an upside play in your flex for your PPR league? Lockett is trending in the right direction; he has at least six targets in four straight games and a score in two of those past four. Hes a unique talent who can take it the distance on any given play. The Seahawks didnt generate a ton of offense the last time they faced the Cardinals, but dont count on Lockett being quiet Saturday.Cameron Meredith, WR, Chicago Bears (23.9 percent). Weve seen fantasy relevance from Meredith this season; he had a hot, two-game stretch with 20 catches and over 100 yards in consecutive games on Oct. 9 and 16. Its hard to trust a Bears receiver not named Alshon Jeffery?from week to week, since several have gotten involved since Matt Barkley took over at quarterback (and kick-started this offense). But based on the largest sample size of production and the skill set that shows up when watching him, Meredith is the best option of other Bears wideouts if youre in need of a flex play in a good matchup against Washington.Mike Gillislee, RB, Buffalo Bills (28.9 percent). The Bills have the most productive rushing offense in the league, and while LeSean McCoy is the catalyst, Gillislee also figures heavily into the mix. Specifically, he gets plenty of work at or near the goal line, as highlighted by his 3-yard touchdown run in Week 15. He has scored a touchdown in four of his past six games and is a flex consideration at running back for a standard scoring league with 12 or more teams. In a 10-team league, you likely have a more reliable, volume-based running back option.Travaris Cadet, RB, New Orleans Saints (.3 percent). Have you found yourself in a major pickle at running back? If so, and if you play in a PPR league, I think Cadet is a super-deep league add who can provide enough value if youre in need of a pickup at the position. He has at least seven PPR points in his past three games, collecting 13 total catches and scoring in Week 15. In a high-volume passing offense, Cadet has emerged as a factor in recent weeks. ' ' '
